My most recent painting called Home Country is on its way to Yallingup Gallery in the southwest of Western Australia.
I love painting these voluptuous shapes that stand like ancient sculptures in a harsh landscape.
And I have added my creative spin to this painting by including children and their dogs playing in the trees outstretched limbs.
These trees grow in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and in the Northern Territory. They are also native to Madagascar and to the mainland of East Africa where they are called Baobab trees.
Recently I was in Kununurra for an exhibition of my paintings at Artopia Gallery.
While I was there I had the chance to stand close to one of these amazing trees and feel its gentle power and charm.
